GAMEPLAY SUMMARY

Old Time Hockey features 5-on-5 arcade hockey gameplay where players will their opponents to submit through rough and tumble aggressive hitting and fighting. Players are expected to contest for the puck by taking the body and hitting the opponents through a myriad of available body checks (hits) such as elbows, shoulder checks, cross checks, hip checks, and the dirty clotheslines. Timely hits allow the team to go on fire (momentum) and inflict further damage on their opponents which will cause the opponents to want to drop the mitts and fight. That's right, aggressive hockey is back in town! Experience hockey the way it was meant to be played - single fights, line brawls, bench brawls, goalie fights, stick fights, knockouts and injuries, molestation of refs - Old Time Hockey has it all! Win the fights and you have fatigued your opponent's teammates for good thereby giving you a clear advantage to score goals and win the hockey game. Better yet, injure most of your opponent's teammates and you will win the game by way of a forfeit. That's Old Time Hockey - I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out!

BUSH HOCKEY LEAGUE

PLOT

Set in the late 1970s amidst a poor economic climate and during the peak of the disco era in the United States, Old Time Hockey underscores the arduous story of a struggling hockey team. The Bush Leaguers are desperate as they play and live in cities with dwindling jobs and uncertain financial times. Soon they may find themselves in trouble losing not just fans, but their own jobs as hockey players.

STYLE

Relive hockey as it was in the late 1970s with Old Time Hockey's unique aesthetic that combines the vibrant colours of the disco era juxtaposed with the stark grittiness of industrial decay. Immerse yourself in the dark and dreary mixed with the liveliness and vibrancy that was the 70s.

SETTING

Play in rinks where hockey was born. The rinks in Old Time Hockey are reminiscent of wood, bricks, and soul of the good old Joe Louis, the Forum, the Garden, etc.

CHARACTERS

Remember when players didn't have helmets? Used wooden sticks? And had no respect for their faces or teeth? Remember when they had names like "Toe", "Dick" and "Gump"? Put yourself in the shoes of players with big moustaches, big hair, and big hearts. And don't forget the goalies who weren't afraid to mix it up and didn't want things like "pads" to get in the way.

EXHIBITION MODE

Ready for some Old Time Hockey? Here's all the advice you need: "take the shortest route to the puck and arrive in ill humor!" and get used to this phrase: "how could the referees have missed that?" Line up bone crushing open ice hits as your opponents scramble for the puck. Choose from a list of ten rugged minor league teams and play with up to 4 players in a local co-op setting.

STORY MODE

Experience taking a rag-tag hockey team facing a folding season to the championship game to save them. Blue-collared hockey at its best, this season is filled with you needing to navigate the rumours, the pranks, and the realities of a bus-travelling hockey team in the 70s.

Read through newspaper articles, unlock hockey cards, grow your team's morale, and navigate to different parts of the Story Mode from your HUB. A mini-calendar, stats summary, and live ticker are all part of your HUB to keep track of what's going on around the Bush League.

Browse through your team's schedule, match results, and access story points including game objectives from this fully functional interactive calendar! Every game you play in the Story Mode paints a picture and the calendar narrates your past games and overall progress.
